Do you feel like there isn’t enough time in the world to pursue everything on your dream list? Well, are you also somebody who is embarrassed to share the number of hours you spent indulged in your phone throughout the day? If so, you are not alone! It is so common to find ways to find rest within our phones amidst this chaotic world, but what happens when we solely become a consumer, and are no longer a contributor to the world (or our lives!)? Listen in to find a few ways to step away from living the consumer-only life, and start recognizing ways you can begin taking action again to contribute to your life and the goals you’ve been dreaming about for so long now!
Mentioned in this Episode:
- What I mean by a Consumer: someone who is actively scrolling through any social media platform; it can be a good, restful thing, or it can be an addiction (gasp!) that you need to work on stepping out of to create space to actively work towards your goals in life
- What I mean by a Contributor: someone who is actively working on their specific goals for their life; it is not limited to finishing anything, just actively taking steps forward

- Tips to Contribute vs Consume:
- (1) Organize your pins/likes/saves/whatevers that you actually might take action on so that you can revisit a place dedicated to true possibilities when you are filled with momentum for forward progress. My example is a Pinterest board that I’ve titled, “But Really, Do This”
- (2) Revisit things you’ve already pinned and saved! It will inspire you to contribute!!
- (3) When inspiration strikes, put your phone down and start taking action immediately! Find that self-discipline to put away however you’re consuming at the time, and turn your night into actions full of contributing to your life!
- (4) Add pictures or content to social media, and allow for it to be shared to inspire others!
- (5) Make your content public so that it can be shared! (If it is personal content, like pictures of your kids or whatever else you’d want to keep private, don’t feel any pressure to make that public!)
